Wilma J. Springer

Wilma Joanne Springer, 74, of Bucyrus, died Monday, June 27, 2022 at Bucyrus Community Hospital following recent health complications.



She was born May 22, 1948 in Bucyrus to the late Samuel J. and Winifred M. (Edgington) Springer. Wilma was a member of the very first class at Garwin School which later became Fairway School. She enjoyed many years working with her friends at the Fairway Waycraft Workshop, now known as Richland Newhope Industries (RNI), in Bucyrus. She was also a member of the Bucyrus Nazarene Church.



Wilma loved being around people and never shied away from a conversation or a hug. She enjoyed embroidering, sewing and cross stitching, and loved watching movies. Wilma also enjoyed watching the birds and when it came time for a snack, she often enjoyed potato chips and Dr. Pepper.



She is survived by two sisters, Juanita Gatchell and Neva (Pastor David) Greenich; many nieces and nephews; as well as a host of friends she considered family.



Calling hours will be held from 11-12:55 pm Thursday, June 30 at Wise Funeral Service, where her funeral will begin that day at 1:00 pm with Pastor Ray LaSalle officiating. Burial will follow in Nevada Cemetery.
