William L. Mutchler

William L. Mutchler, 75, of Bucyrus died Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Altercare of Bucyrus from a recent bout with pneumonia and heart complications.



He was born October 29, 1942 in Bucyrus to the late Dwight L. and Hazel O. (Wilson) Mutchler. Bill grew up attending Woodlawn EUB/UMC and graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1960. He married Judith A. Cotsamire, whom he met through mutual friends, on December 14, 1963. Bill worked in maintenance and retired from General Motors after over 40 years of work.



Bill will be remembered as a family man who enjoyed simple things and was a big tease. He could be found at nearly every sporting event his kids participated in and worked midnights for most of his career to accommodate the busy schedule that came with six children. He was always on the hunt for a bargain to add to one of several collections including baseball cards, coins, and beanie babies. He also came across items for friends and families as he visited many sales and flea markets. At home, he enjoyed solving puzzles, reading, and watching westerns.



Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy Mutchler; children, Dennis (Lori) Mutchler, Christopher (Angie) Mutchler, Kimberly (Michael) Birkhimer, Brett (Kimberly) Mutchler, Erin (Tony) Rose, and Kelly (Matt) Linn; 21 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister, Judy (Ronald) Booth; brother, Tim (Brenda) Mutchler; stepmother, Thelma Mutchler; and many nieces and nephews.



In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by sisters, JoAnne Ryland and Bonnie Foos.



The Mutchler family will receive friends on Friday, January 26 from 5-8 pm at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus where Bill’s funeral will be held Saturday at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Oceola Cemetery.
