Wayne E. Brause

Wayne Edward Brause, 95, of Bucyrus, died Friday, November 23, 2018 at his residence.



He was born January 13, 1923 in Lykens Twp. to the late William and Esther (Kibler) Brause and was a 1942 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School. Wayne proudly served in the 2nd Marine Division in the USMC from 1942 to 1945 and was stationed in the South Pacific. On September 29, 1946, he married Clara June Schillinger and they shared 63 years of marriage until her death on November 26, 2009.



Throughout his life, Wayne worked for the city, county, and state and retired in the mid-1980s as a County Road Superintendent.



He was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church; Bucyrus Lodge 139 F&AM; Order of the Eastern Star, where he served as Past Patron; Bucyrus Shrine Club; American Legion, Post 181, serving as Past Commander; VFW 1078; and AMVETS 27. Wayne was a very active supporter of the Democratic Party and served on the County Fair Board for 25 years.



He is survived by three children, Cynthia (Stan) Eusey, Ed (Kathy) Brause, and James (Deborah) Brause; three grandchildren, Jesse Brause, Seth Brause, and Brandon Brause; and two great grandchildren.



Wayne was preceded in death by five siblings, Winifred Boyer, Beatrice Karg, Glen Brause, Ralph Brause, and Geraldine Johnson.



His family will receive friends from 11 – 11:55 am Monday, November 26 at Wise Funeral Service, after which his funeral will begin at 12 Noon with Gene Luidhart, SAM and his nephew, John Karg officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery where full Military Rites will be provided by the USMC and American Legion, Post 181 Honor Guards.



Donations can be made payable to Honor Flight Inc. or Southern Care Hospice and will be accepted through the funeral home.
