Warren A. Bussard

Warren Arno Bussard, of Columbia, SC, died March 16, 2011. He was born June 27, 1923, to the late William and Clementine Bussard. He married Phyllis Jean Allen on September 18, 1943. She preceded him in death in September of 1992. He was also preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. Warren was a graduate of Morris-Harvey College and worked as a United States Treasury Agent, an accountant for Big Bear Corporation in Columbus, Ohio, and was owner of his own accounting business in Sandusky, Ohio. During his years in Ohio Warren was an active member of Masons and Kiwanis Club. An avid golfer, Warren retired to South Carolina in 1976 living in both the Columbia and Camden areas.

Warren is survived by a son, Warren B. Bussard and wife, Sandra; two grandchildren, Ryan Bussard and wife, Andrea Wickham, Karissa Bussard Kurek and husband, Edward; five great-grandchildren, Laura Bussard, Penelope Bussard, Thomas Kurek, Daniel Kurek and Cassandra Kurek. On March 28, 1999, Warren married Marita Ballard Ketchen, who survives. He is also survived by three stepsons, Thomas Ketchen (Dorothy Park), Charles Ketchen (Carol) and Frank Ketchen and numerous stepgrandchildren.

Warren was a member of Shandon Presbyterian Church in South Carolina where services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 19. A graveside funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, at Oakwood Cemetery in Bucyrus with Pastor Jim Ellis officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Music Fund at Woodlawn United Methodist Church through Wise Funeral Service.
