Wanda L. Lynn

Wanda L. Lynn, 77, of Bucyrus died Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Bucyrus Community Hospital.

She was born August 8, 1936 in Cleveland, Virginia to the late Henry and Janice (Harrison) Irving. Wanda grew up in Virginia and married Benny R. Lynn, Sr. on August 31, 1952. Shortly thereafter they moved to Bucyrus where Wanda cared for her family as a homemaker.

Wanda was a selfless individual who always put others before herself. She often gave to charities and helped those in need. She loved her family and her loyal pets, Luke and Sammy.

Wanda enjoyed planting flowers around the house. She didn’t miss watching the daily news, political happenings, or OSU sports on TV. She found time every week to reflect while watching Sunday church. There were many hours throughout the week spent talking over a cup of coffee with her close friend, Joann Crawford. She also enjoyed reading Bible stories and her favorite magazine, Reminisce.

Wanda will be missed by her loving husband of 61 years, Benny R. Lynn, Sr., her children, Benny “Sonny” (Cindy) Lynn, Jr. of Bucyrus, Jeff (Shelley) Lynn of Greeley, CO, Kelly (William) Custer of Ft. Wayne, IN, Christa (Dave) Graves of Bucyrus, Jessica (Steve) Coffman of Tiffin, and Josh Jager of Bucyrus; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Wanda is preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Lynn. Wanda lost a big part of herself the day Debbie died.

Friends may call Friday, March 14 from 11:30am to 1:30pm at Wise Funeral Service where funeral services will immediately follow at 1:30pm with Pastor Jack Hager officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be given to either Crawford County Humane Society, Salvation Army, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through the funeral home.
