Vicki Schiefer, 64, of Bucyrus Twp., died September 18, 2015 at her home. She put up a good fight, was stubborn as heck, but finally moved on to her next adventure.
Vicki was born October 25, 1950 to the late Charles Leonard and Helen Jane (Ackerman, Beidelschies) Schiefer. She graduated from Wynford High School in 1968 and attended Adrian College, Pima Community College, University of Arizona, Marion Technical College and North Central State College.
Vicki retired from Richland County J.F.S. where she was past president of AFSCME 1295 and held many officer positions. She sat on many boards and committees in Richland County and was invited to attend a Mini White House Convention for Medicare/Medicaid during President Clinton’s term in office. While living in Tucson, Arizona she was employed at the University of Arizona and volunteered for many organizations both there and each place she was privileged to call home throughout her life.
She’ll be remembered for her great laugh and her intense and passionate love of animals, wildlife and nature. She was fun-loving and a proud, vocal supporter of her great nieces and nephews. She also liked Mickey Mouse items and was looking forward to Janet Jackson’s next concert tour.
In Vicki’s words, “I loved life and always a good laugh. I will forever miss my dear family and many friends. I always said life was worth living and to make the most of our short time on earth. I think I did and I hope you do too.”
Vicki is survived by her brother, Lenny Schiefer of Westerville; sister-in-law, Janet Schiefer of Bucyrus; nieces, Wendy Schiefer, Julie (David) McKenzie and Jenny (Bill) Scott; nephews, Jeff (Karla) Schiefer and Greg (Cindy) Schiefer; 13 great nieces and nephews; one great-great niece; Uncle Quentin “Bud” Ackerman; Aunt Marjorie (Dick) Armbruster; several very special friends and many kitties.
In addition to her parents, Vicki was preceded in death by her significant other, Kathleen Sipes; brother, Larry Schiefer; stepfather, Robert Beidelschies; sister-in-law, Lee Schiefer; all her grandparents; uncles, Earl and Jerry Ackerman and Robert Schiefer and aunt, Helen Ackerman.
