Vernon Richard Webb, 64, of Bucyrus died Wednesday evening, September 25, 2013 at Altercare of Bucyrus. He had been ill since June.

He was born in Adams County June 5, 1949 to the late Donald and Mona Lee (Elliott) Webb. After school, he served briefly in the Army and made his way to Bucyrus in 1970. It was there that he met Micki Dummitt and married her on November 28, 1970.

Vernon will be remembered as a friend to those who knew him. He was very funny and passionate for his feelings, good or bad. He adored Micki and asked her to renew their vows on October 1, 2005. He told her he loved her 20 times or more every day. Vernon also loved his pets, caring for countless cats and dogs over the years. He enjoyed collecting American Indian artifacts, holding on to pictures, reading and listening to honky tonk music.

Vernon is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rev. Micki Webb; their children, Rhonda (Brian) Sanford of Galion and Jason (Mandy) Webb of Bucyrus; 10 grandchildren; six great grandchildren and expecting another; brothers Steve Webb of Sabina and Mark Webb of Wilmington; sisters, Linda (Mike) Orins of McDermott and Donna (Ted) Stirr of Wilmington; sisters-in-law, Naomi (Jim) Copper, Beverly (Larry) Metz and Darlene Dummitt and his best friend, Jimmy Byers.

In addition to his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Lee Etzinger; two great grandchildren; brother, Dwight Webb; in-laws, Johnie & Mary Dummitt and brother-in-law, Bradley Dummitt.

Vernon's wish was to be cremated with no services or visitation. Those wishing to leave memorial contributions may do so to New Day Ministries or the Humane Society serving Crawford County through Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus. Memories can be shared in the Memorial Guestbook below.
