Valerie Ann Clinard, 48, of Bucyrus, died March 12, 2022 at Altercare where she resided for six years.
Valerie was born February 22, 1974 to Roger Lee and Kathleen Valerie (McDaniel) Cotsmire in Bucyrus. She graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1993 and began working in the Dietary Department at Altercare and Bucyrus Community Hospital. Valerie then went on to work at Waycraft for many years before recently retiring due to declining health. She was a member of Living Word Fellowship Church for years before it closed. Valerie then attended Lifeway Community Christian Fellowship.
Valerie loved her family. She would call her father every day while at Altercare and treasured all the visits her family made to see her. Despite her Multiple Sclerosis, she kept herself busy. When Valerie wasn’t working or spending time with family, she was coloring, watching TV, or listening to Christian music. Valerie was a loving, caring person who had a knack for giving the best gifts. She loved animals and her favorite cartoon characters were Eeyore and Tigger.
Valerie is survived by daughters, Rebecka (Josh Laferty) and Misty Clinard; granddaughter, Zelma Ann Beat; her parents; brothers, Douglas, Daniel (Tracy), and Timothy (Jody) Cotsmire; nephews, Jesse (Brooklyn Farnsworth) and Jeremy Cotsmire; niece, Katelyn Cotsmire; and Zelma’s father, Andrew Beat. She was preceded in death by her former husband and father of their children, Clark Clinard.
Friends may call from 3-5 PM Saturday, March 19 at Wise Funeral Service with service to follow with Pastor Tim Myers officiating. Entombment will take place in Crawford County Memory Gardens on Monday, March 21 at 1 PM. Guests are invited to meet at the cemetery. The family encourages loved ones to wear bright colors in honor of Valerie.
Memorial contributions can be made payable to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or to a charity of the donor’s choosing and can be sent to the funeral home. Memories and photos can be shared on Valerie’s tribute wall.
