Todd A. Browning

Todd Alan Browning, 50, of Bucyrus, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 23, 2017 at his residence. He was found with his faithful four-legged companion, Reece sitting by his side.



Todd was born October 29, 1966 in Bucyrus to the late Fred O. and Estella M. (Davis) Browning. He was proud to have played on the football team at Bucyrus and studied electronics while attending Pioneer before graduating from Bucyrus High School in 1985.



He worked a short time at Checkmate before taking a job at Transco, where he spent 20 plus years working as a welder and a crew leader before they sold. He was a member of the USW Union and served as their financial secretary for 17 years.



Todd had a big heart and often stood up for fellow employees or was there when a friend needed a hand. He played men’s softball for many years at Lions Field, enjoyed golfing in the Wednesday night league at New Winchester Golf Course, and loved riding his motorcycle which was custom made by one of his close friends. When not with family or friends, Todd could most recently be found at the Bucyrus Diner lending a hand or just socializing with fellow customers. He also enjoyed singing and playing his guitar and will be remembered for his ability to cover “Free Bird” during karaoke.



In addition to his pit bull, Reece, Todd is survived by five siblings, Mary (Larry) Traxler, Cindy (Henry) Lewis, Jean Clayton, Betty Browning, and William “Bill” Browning; 10 nieces and nephews; 12 great nieces and nephews; and one great-great niece. He was preceded in death by two brothers who died very early in life, William and Fred Browning.



Friends may call from 5-8 pm Wednesday, March 29 at Wise Funeral Service where his funeral will be held beginning at 1:00 pm Thursday with Pastor Dan Rebon officiating. His family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Oceola Cemetery.
