Thomas J. Blue, 51, of Bucyrus, went to Heaven to catch bigger fish on Tuesday, May 24, 2011. He died at Heartland of Bucyrus following a battle with cancer.
He was born January 7, 1960, in Bucyrus to the late John R. and Jane Ann (Ranson) Blue. Tom was a 1978 graduate of Bucyrus High School and also attended Marion Technical College. Tom served his country in the US Air Force from 1983 – 1987 and on July 10, 1992, he married Patricia A. Miller who survives him.
Tom completed truck driving school in Columbus and drove for Mansfield Royal Cola, Dickerson Foods and lastly drove for Silverline Windows in Marion. One of Tom's greatest accomplishments was when he received his captain's license. He owned and operated SeaQuest Charters at Lake Erie and as a charter boat captain; he belonged to the Maritime Consortium.
Tom had a strong faith in God and regularly attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church where he was a member and also a past lector. He was a level headed and devoted husband who loved his wife. He also loved fishing, the Cincinnati Bengals and golden retrievers.
In addition to his wife of nineteen years, Tom is survived by two brothers, Jim (Mary) Blue and John (Jan) Blue all of Marion; a brother-in-law, Alan (Ginger) Kochheiser of Delaware; one sister Sally (Howard) Sampson of Cincinnati and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Diane Kochheiser.
Friends may call from 4 – 7 p.m. Thursday, May 26 at Wise Funeral Service. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Fr. Ronald J. LeJeune as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery with full Military Rites will provided by the American Legion Post 181. Contributions may be given to Holy Trinity School Endowment Fund through the funeral home.
