Thomas Clark

Thomas E. Clark, 56, of Nevada passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at his home Monday morning, June 8, 2015.

He was born in Bucyrus on October 17, 1958 to Robert and Donna (Hayes) Clark who both survive. Tom grew up near Nevada and graduated from Wynford High School in 1977. In 1979, he began working for the Ohio Department of Transportation in Wyandot County and retired after 28 ½ years of service. Tom went to the pizza shop in Nevada in the fall of 1981 after coon hunting where he met Candy Stuckman and they were married April 3, 1982.

Tom will be remembered as a faithful, hardworking and dedicated man of God who never gave up. He loved hunting, a hobby he shared with his family, and anything to do with the outdoors, from taking meticulous care of his lawn and tractors to coaching his girls’ little league softball teams. Family gatherings on birthdays and holidays were always enjoyed, especially with a piece of blueberry pie. In recent years, he became a lay servant in his church, Nevada United Methodist, ministering in area nursing homes and visiting parishioners. In years past, Tom was a member of the Wyandot County Coon Hunters, Nevada VFD and loved bowling.

In addition to his parents and wife of 33 years, Candy Clark, Tom is survived by daughters, Elizabeth (Wesley) Neville and Sarah Clark and her fiancé, Chris Eicher; sister, Donna (Richard) Gorenflo; nephews, John (Jenny) Gorenflo and Ray Gorenflo; sister-in-law, Judy Clark; nieces, Rebecca Clark and Jessica (Chris) Stake; brother-in-law, Carl (Mona) Stuckman and family; along with his faithful dogs and hunting partners, Rocky, Buddy and Spot.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert L. Clark.

The Clark family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 10 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Wise Funeral Service where his funeral will be held on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Matt Garrabrant officiating. Burial will follow in Brokensword Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Nevada UMC through the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be shared in the Memorial Guestbook below.
