Tamera J. Schott, 59, ended her nine-year journey with cancer on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at her home under the care of her family and Avita Hospice.
She was born in Ashland on June 17, 1964 to the late Jerry Frost and Dieann (Fonderlin) Frost who survives. Tammy graduated from Colonel Crawford High School in 1982, then went to Ohio University and The Ohio State University where she earned a degree in Public Relations. She began dating Andy Schott in high school and, after years of her persistence, they were married October 14, 1989. Tammy sold advertising and worked in marketing and public relations for varied organizations and worked for Morrow County Hospital until her health no longer allowed.
Tammy was a strong, giving, selfless soul with a spirit that would not give up. No calling was more special to her than that of wife and mother. She was her girls’ biggest supporter in every endeavor they took up, even when it happened to be sports. She did impart her love of music by Journey with the girls and got to attend a concert with them.
She had a passion for helping others, whether it was family, through work, or volunteering with service organizations. Tammy also loved to travel, especially if there was a beach at the destination. At home, she started each morning with hot tea and a Hostess donut, played with her dog Addie, loved seeing that spring flowers were planted, and never shied away from starting a home improvement project.
Tammy is survived by her husband, Andy; daughters, Lindsay Schott-Jury and husband Clay and Bailey Schott; her expected grandson, Graham; mother, Dieann; and sister, Missy (Kyle) Tate and family.
Friends and family are invited to gather in Oakwood Cemetery for a graveside service on Saturday, May 25 at 11:00 am where Deacon Greg Kirk will officiate.
Rather than sending flowers, donations are encouraged to be made payable to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Gifts can be given the day of the service or at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus.
Memories and photos can be shared on the guestbook.
