T. Kathleen Hostutler, 84, formerly of W. Warren St, Bucyrus and most recently of London, Ohio died Tuesday evening, August 23, 2011 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
She was born July 30, 1927 in Charleston, W.Va. to the late Frank Sigmon and Catherine (Payne) Sigmon-Igo. Kathleen graduated from Oak Hill High School and on June 11, 1945 she married Leroy K. Hostutler who survives.
Kathleen was a kind, and giving lady who never met a stranger. She was guided by her relationship with Jesus Christ which was instilled through her grandmother and she continued that passion as a dedicated and faithful Nazarene Pastor's wife; together spreading His word in six churches: Brighton, Cincinnati and Centerville, Ohio; Loudondale, Paden City and Oak Hill, W.Va.; Belpre, Ohio and Associate Pastor's wife in Bucyrus and Crestline. She served as Prime Time Senior Adult Director, Sunday School teacher as well as in youth ministries and was always a faithful Christian example of a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her loving husband of 66 years, Kathleen is survived by four children, Olive (Glen) Smith of Bucyrus, Dana (Gerald) Poff of London, Ohio, Keith (Susie) Hostutler of Parkersburg, WV and Greg (Pattie) Hostutler of Oak Hill WV; ten grandchildren, Christopher (Kay) Smith, Monica (Jeremy-deceased) Johnson, Jared (Rebecca) Poff, Justin (Tracie) Poff, Janelle (John) Pate, Shane (Jackie) Hostutler, Ryan Hostutler, Rebecca (Nate) Summers, Rachael (Jeff) Gill, and Joel (Lisa) Hostutler; fifteen great grandchildren and one brother Allen Branham of Xenia.
Her hobbies included sewing, painting and cooking. She often served others as a good neighbor and friend.
The Hostutler family will receive friends Friday, August 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wise Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Crestline Church of the Nazarene, 500 E. Main St., Crestline, Ohio with Rev. Keith A. Hostutler and Pastor David Greenich officiating. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the funeral from 10-11 a.m.. Burial will follow the funeral in Oakwood Cemetery, Bucyrus.
Contributions may be given to the Prime Time Ministries of the Crestline Nazarene Church or American Cancer Society in honor of Thelma's being a cancer survivor through the funeral home.
