Sylvena M. “GiGi” Carr, 62, of Bucyrus, died Thursday, March 12, 2015 at her residence.
She was born October 24, 1952 in Nuremberg, Germany where her family was living with her dad serving in the US Army. Sylvena spent time growing up in Maryland and Bucyrus and graduated in 1970 from Bucyrus High School.
GiGi always wanted to connect with others and strived for a “heart of service” to her community and its individuals. She was proud of her Comanche heritage and enjoyed many good times with family in Oklahoma catching up on life and always took advantage of attending a local powwow.
Gigi spent a great amount of time reading and marking up her Bible as she was a stong believer in God and salvation. She also enjoyed going out to eat, especially for a good steak dinner but what gave her the most joy in life was her prized possession, her son John, whom she was so proud of.
GiGi will be missed by her son, John (Sandra) Rostash of Bucyrus; two grandsons, Adam Roberts and Brayden Pollock; six siblings, Ches (Elaine) Carr, Alyson Neikirk, Steve (Bea) Carr whom was her twin brother, Betty Levering, John Carr and Kathy Lekin along with many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John P. and Marie (Tieyah) Carr and one sister, Frances Joyce Holochwost.
Friends are invited to gather from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, March, 18 at Wise Funeral Service where a memorial service will be held that day beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Stauffer of Trinity Evangelical UMC in Upper Sandusky officiating.
