Stephen A. Auchard, 56, of Bucyrus, died September 18, 2018 at Bucyrus Community Hospital following extended health issues.
He was born January 29, 1962 in Hillsboro, Ohio, son of the late, Dr. Virgil Allen Auchard and Jeannette (Hadl) Auchard who survives in Bucyrus. Steve spent most of his life in Bucyrus and was a 1981 graduate of Bucyrus High School. He did various coursework at Tri-Rivers JVS and Marion Tech and received his CDL from United Truck Master School in Florida. He worked a number of years at both Newman Technology and G & B Assembly before taking a security guard position at Pinkerton Security. He concluded his work career at Lowe's Home Improvement, where he worked as a cashier and security guard.
Steve enjoyed working on cars and spent many hours in his wood shop creating keychains and other trinkets. He was an auxiliary police officer and was glad to assist when needed. His spent many summers vacationing with family at Battle Lake in Minnesota and for true relaxation, Steve loved taking his Chevy Nova out for long country drives while listening to The Osmonds.
He is survived by sister, Anne (Jim) Holliday; nephews, Joshua Holliday and Adam Holliday and fiancé, Shanthel Dominguez; niece, Jordan (Jake) McCullough and great nephew, Nolan McCullough.
Steve’s cremation arrangements were handled by the staff of Wise Funeral Service. Donations can be made payable to a charity of the donor’s choice and will be accepted through the funeral home.
