Shumana N. Zornes

Shumana Nichole Zornes, 31, of Bucyrus, died Thursday, October 3, 2013 in Nashville, TN where she and her sister were planning to attend a video recording and concert from their favorite band, Here Come The Mummies.

Shumana was born September 13, 1982 in Marion, the daughter of Dan T. and Monica D (Holt) Zornes. Her family lived only a short time in Marion before moving to Bucyrus where Shumana grew up attending St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was a 2000 graduate from Bucyrus High School. She was most recently taking online college classes through Ashford University where she was studying psychology.

Shumana lived by the golden rule when it came to caring for others and that also applied to animals as they held a special place in her heart, especially snakes, tarantulas and turtles. She enjoyed socializing with friends, hanging out with family and loved rooting for her Indians, Browns and Buckeyes. Shumana absolutely adored time spent with her son Blade and also looked forward to following "HCTM" in various cities throughout the surrounding states with her sister.

She is survived by her parents, her son, Blade all of Bucyrus; one sister, Stephanie Zornes of Findlay; maternal grandmother, Carole Holt of Bucyrus; three uncles, Matt (Jane) Holt of Dothan, Alabama, Jack (Lori) Zornes and Randy (Tammy) Zornes both of Bucyrus. Also surviving is a special friend, Mike VanBuskirk as well as many great aunts and uncles and cousins.

Shumana is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Wanda Gibson; maternal grandfather, Don Holt and her maternal great-grandmothers, Margaret Schell and Eileen Markley.

A public memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10 at Wise Funeral Service with Pastor Don Neumann officiating. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 5-6 p.m.

Memorial contributions for Blade's future education can be made payable to Monica Zornes and may be given at the funeral home.
