Shirley Ann Stover

Shirley Ann Stover, 85, was called home by the Lord on December 13, 2024. She was born on June 9, 1939, in Bucyrus, Ohio to Marvin C. Beach, Jr. and Madalyn E. (Metz) Beach. She was the eldest of three children.

Shirley graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1958 and went on to work for The Timken Company for over thirty years. On November 9, 1958, she married Thomas G. Stover.

Shirley resided in Galion for most of her life. A devoted Christian, she enjoyed helping others and was generous in spirit. She supported many charities. Shirley believed in leading a simple life and demonstrated great modesty. She will be dearly missed.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her brother-in-law, Robert “Bugsy” Klein; and her beloved husband, Tom. She is survived by her brother, Sammy K. Beach; her sister, Sally L. (Beach) Wirebaugh, and her sister-in-law, Sandra S. (Stover) Klein. She is also survived by nieces, Jacqueline S. (Beach) Partlow and Jennifer (Jack) (Klein) Wheeler; nephews, Darin Beach, Daniel L. (Barb) Wirebaugh, Derrick A. Wirebaugh, Michael Klein, and Robert (Renee) Klein; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Later in life, Shirley enjoyed a wonderful friendship for many years with Gene Tooman, who survives.

The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 11:00 am to 12:55 pm. Her funeral will begin at 1:00 pm with Life Celebrant, Lisa Snyder, officiating and Shirley will be laid to rest in Crawford County Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made payable to a charity of the donor’s choice and given through the funeral home. Memories and photos can be shared on the guestbook.
