Scott E. Garverick

Scott E. Garverick, 53, of rural Bucyrus died naturally, yet unexpectedly Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Bucyrus Community Hospital.



The youngest of the Garverick boys, he was born May 20, 1963 to Dale and Ruth (Perry) Garverick. Shortly after graduating from Col. Crawford High School in 1982, Scott began working for ESCO Bucyrus Blades where he has been employed over 34 years. He was formerly married to Tami Garverick with whom he had four beautiful daughters. Scott married the former Wanda Farley on October 5, 2006.



Growing up on a farm, Scott became an avid outdoorsman. He was a lifelong 4-H advocate, taking projects in his youth and helping his girls as well. He loved to hunt, especially with his bow. He liked fishing, gardening and his dogs, especially bulldogs. He enjoyed a nice motorcycle ride and trips to Amish country and was always looking for a bargain at auctions or on Craigslist. Though a little shy and short on words, he was known to be a prankster as well. He will be remembered as a hard worker who loved his family. He also loved to eat and many great times were had at family gatherings on holidays, at Sunday Dinners, cookouts, and campfires.



Scott is survived by his parents; wife, Wanda; children, Ashley (Jason) Roe, Jessica, Mackenzie, and Madison Garverick, Dolly (Jeremy) Downing, and Jeff (Shawna) Green; grandchildren, Ethan and Ella Roe, Kelsey, Austin, and Dylan Downing, Emma Green, and Dakota Rapp; great grandson, Brennan Downing; brothers, Dale (Marline), Ken (Vicky), and Mark (Nichole) Garverick; baby sister, Cindy Barton; and lots of nieces and nephews.



The Garverick family will receive friends on Sunday, June 5 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren. St., Bucyrus where his funeral will be held Monday at 10:30 am with Pastor Steven Hodges of Gospel Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Whetstone Cemetery.
