Sandra L. Arnold, 72, of Bucyrus died early Saturday, September 22, 2018 at OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus after several months of failing health.
She was born April 22, 1946 in Bucyrus to the late James and Pauline (Payne) Zarcone. Sandra graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1964.
Sandra will be remembered for her kind, loving, big heart. She loved helping family and friends any way she could, especially if it involved cooking. She was an amazing cook, gardener, and canner and also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and other crafts. In addition to her large collection of cookbooks, Sandra loved to read all sorts of books and had a vast knowledge on several subjects. In her younger years, she enjoyed league bowling. She looked forward to gathering with friends for breakfast or lunch and usually had a cooking show on the television at home where she missed the companionship of her late dog, Baby.
A lifelong Catholic, she worshiped at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and was also a member of Moose Lodge #669. In addition to being an excellent mother and homemaker, Sandra worked at K-Mart and the Timken cafeteria over the years.
Sandra is survived by her children, James (Lee Ann) Arnold, Tammy Shoup, and Richard (Vonda) Arnold; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Arnold, Nathanial Arnold, Courtney (Micheal) Barber, Cody Shoup, Kylie Shoup, Dylan Shoup, Amanda Moore, and Miranda (Taylor) Foster; great grandchildren, Lyric and Melody Foster and one expected, Keegan Barber; siblings, Sam (Clara) Zarcone, Tom Zarcone, Paul Zarcone, and Kathy (Nelson) Scott; sister-in-law, Pam Zarcone; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Thursday, September 27 at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus. A Rosary Service will be held at 10:30 am, then family will receive friends from 11 am – 12:55 pm. The funeral will begin at 1:00 with Fr. Paul Fahrbach officiating and burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Sandra was particularly passionate about kidney disease awareness and organ donation due to a family history of kidney disease and being a recipient herself. Donations are encouraged to be made payable to Lifeline of Ohio or National Kidney Foundation and given at the funeral home. Memories and photos can be shared on her tribute page at www.wisefuneral.com.
