Ruth E. Pfahler

Ruth E. Pfahler, 85, died peacefully Friday morning, November 19, 2021 at Altercare of Bucyrus where she was cared for as a resident for several months.



Ruth was born in Bucyrus on September 29, 1936 to the late Frederick H. and Helen M. (Rehman) Keller. She attended school at Holy Trinity and graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1954. Ruth married Ronald E. Pfahler on February 18, 1955 and was his amazing partner in life, family, and work until he preceded her in death on November 10, 2009. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for their business, REP Services which is still operated by their family.



Ruth was quiet, unassuming, and worked hard. She enjoyed doing yardwork, class reunions, yard sales, and card club. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and volunteered for the parish festival and supported Ron’s youth coaching. Ruth enjoyed the company of several loyal dogs over her life and her favorite moments were those spent at family holiday gatherings.



Ruth is survived by children, Randy (Susan) Pfahler, Cheryl (Mark) Shilling, and Mike Pfahler; grandchildren, Brandon (Vicki) Bowles, Cameron Pfahler, and Marshall Pfahler; great granddaughter, Petra Bowles; sisters, Donna (Joe) Armbruster and Nancy (Brad) Felkey; sister-in-law, Joy Keller; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband of 54 years, Ruth was preceded in death by brother, Richard Keller.



Ruth’s family is gathering for private services and laying her to rest next to Ron in Oakwood Cemetery.
