Ruth Ann Wiley, 75, of Ontario, passed away Sunday morning, April 1, 2018 from complications due to ALS.
She was born February 27, 1943 in Galion to the late Leo and Annabelle (Weber) Flohr. Ruth Ann was a member of the first graduating class of Buckeye Central High School. She married Harold Wiley on May 3, 1964 in Crestline and he survives.
Over the years, she was employed by the North Electric Company, Shelby Mutual Insurance, Crestline Exempted Village Schools and Richland County Children Services. Ruth Ann was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bucyrus and enjoyed sewing, quilting, traveling and spending time with her family. In recent years, she loved being with her grandsons and followed their sporting events.
In addition to Harold, her husband of 53 years, Ruth Ann is survived by her sons, Bryan (Heather) Wiley of Sandusky and Jason Wiley of Crestline; sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Dennis Rismiller of Shelby; grandsons, Hayden and Nolan Wiley of Sandusky as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and special neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bobby Flohr.
Friends may call from 6-8 pm Thursday, April 5 at Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St. in Bucyrus and from 11- 11:55 Friday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 130 S. Walnut St. in Bucyrus where her funeral will be held that day beginning at 12:00 noon with Pastor Mike Greenler officiating. A private burial will be held in Oakland Cemetery in Tiro at a later date.
The family asks that memorials go to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Building Improvement Fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
