Ronald Lee Perrin

Ronald L. Perrin, 67, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Altercare of Bucyrus.

He was born July 12, 1947 in Bucyrus to Charles Kenneth and Elta M. (Keiser) Perrin. Ron was a 1967 graduate of Bucyrus High School and worked at Komatsu Dresser until they closed. He then enjoyed driving bus for Bucyrus City Schools and also operated Ron’s Lawn Care until his health required him to retire.

On February 5, 1979, Ron stopped by the VFW to unwind and a young lady caught his eye. It was love at first sight and on July 6 of that year, he and Judith A. Kretsinger married. Through the years, they raised a beautiful daughter, Stephanie L. Perrin and Ron cherished being as active as he could in her life by attending anything she was involved in and also supporting activities by serving with the Band Boosters and chaperoning trips she went on with Disney being a favorite. Ron and Judy loved searching out car shows, especially Utica, Lexington, Sycamore and the Good Guys shows. He has owned several old vehicles but his favorite was a black ’47 Ford Coupe. He spent countless hours tinkering on his cars and woodworking. They enjoyed going out to dinner and to unwind, Ron liked to watch older musicals to pass the time.

Ron was a member of the former Grace UMC; a charter member of the 4C’s, the Washington Station Street Rods and a former member of the Bucyrus Masonic Lodge. He was an easy going friend to all and will be remembered by many for his distinctive, big and hardy laugh.

Ron is survived by his mother, wife and daughter along with one sister, Nancy (Kenneth) Zellner, and all reside in Bucyrus. He is also survived by a niece, Heather (James) Cooke of Fayetteville, NC; nephew, Steven Miller, Jr. of Chatfield; two great nieces, Amber and Marissa, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother-in-law, Steven Miller, Sr.

Friends are invited to gather with his family from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, May 30 at Wise Funeral Service where a memorial service will be held that day, beginning at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Corwin officiating.

It is requested that memorial contributions be made payable to either the Humane Society Serving Crawford County, Bucyrus UMC or the Dementia Society of America and they will be received at the funeral home.
