Ronald C. Raybuck

Ronald C. Raybuck, 74, of Bucyrus died Friday, January 8, 2021 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital where he was under hospice care after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

He was born in Bucyrus on February 23, 1946 to the late Richard C. and Barbara J. (O’Heron) Raybuck. Ron graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1964 and was drafted to serve in the US Army in Vietnam from 1965-1967. He worked as a truck driver for Wagner Hardware, Memorial Homes and retired from MR. Box in Mansfield. Ron was reacquainted with his classmate, Mary Lou (Washer) McJunkin at their 25th class reunion and they were married May 9, 1994.

Ron was a night owl who enjoyed being at home where he could tinker on vehicles, maintain his yard, listen to country music, and watch lots of westerns and war movies. He also liked to hunt and fish in his younger years. Uncle Ron was always willing to lend a hand to his family when they needed it and had a tool for every job. He will be remembered for collecting and keeping every receipt, church bulletin, and memento he acquired. He also enjoyed the company of several loyal dogs and was especially fond of Jake. When grandchildren came along, a soft side few knew about was always on display for them. Ron was a proud member of the Eliminators Car Club and AA having been sober since 1984.

Ron is survived by Mary Lou, his wife of 26 years; her children, Jackie (Doug) White (children Shelby, Lucas, and Carly), Dianna (Bob) Simon (children Brandon and Breanna (Cory) Messer), and Dennis (Carrie) McJunkin (children Dominic and Adeline); sisters, Sharon (Norm) Huber and Connie (Dick) Burdick; brother, Randy Raybuck; and many nieces, nephews and their families.

Private services will be held in Holy Trinity Cemetery where Ron will be laid to rest with military rites by the US Army Honor Guard and Bucyrus Veterans Military Funeral Detail.

Those wishing to make memorial donations can make them payable to American Cancer Society or Humane Society Serving Crawford County and give through Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, Ohio 44820.
