Robert E. Routson I, 60, of Bucyrus, died Monday, April 15, 2024 at Avita Health System of Bucyrus following a battle with cancer.
He was born March 15, 1964 in Crestline to the late Harry H. and Marjorie A. (Hornavious) Routson. In 1996, he married Sharon A. Fausnaugh, and she survives. Bob worked various jobs throughout his life but found it most enjoyable sitting behind the wheel of a semi-truck while driving the open road for CE White. He spent 10 plus years with the company and retired only because of his health condition.
Bob’s life can be summed up by three loves. His love for family, motorcycles, and guns. Any time spent with family was special and he considered his grandchildren to be his pride and joy. Bob’s love of motorcycles was a close second, especially Harley Davidson’s. Taz, as he was referred to by friends, owned 11 different bikes at one point in his life and loved riding them every chance got. He was especially proud of the 2001 custom chopper that he and Sharon picked up. They attended many bike shows and their chopper, “Big Red” collected many trophies and awards. When it came to guns, he never got in to shooting them, he was simply and formerly an avid collector.
In addition to his loving wife Sharon, Bob is survived by children, Robert Routson II and fiancée, Ashley Zaladonis, Eric Routson, James Middleton and fiancée, April Woodard, Thomas Middleton and fiancée Emily Reeder, and Angel and husband Thomas Stuckman; grandchildren, Hunter Routson, Memphis Routson, Zanya Middleton, Dantay Middleton, Jayce Middleton, Montana Middleton, Tenley Middleton, Taysom Middleton, Elias Middleton, Kendall Stuckman and Gage Stuckman; brother, Harold Routson; and many, many close friends.
Calling hours for Bob will be held from 5 – 8 pm Thursday, April 18 at Wise Funeral Service, where his funeral will be held at 11:00 am Friday with close friends Tom Walker and Nobby officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
Donations can be made payable to Nationwide Children’s Hospital and will be accepted through the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared on the guestbook.
