Robert D. Keller, 51, of rural Galion, died Thursday, June 7, 2016 at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Tulsa, Oklahoma following a lengthy battle with lung cancer.
Bob was born June 7, 1965 in Bucyrus to late Robert E. Keller and Rosie (Fisher) Keller, who resides in Bucyrus. On December 23, 2013, Bob married Elizabeth “Libby” (Seif) and the two enjoyed fishing, camping and laughing together. There were even rides on their tandem bicycle which added to their laughter.
Bob worked at Baillie Lumber as a saw operator and he enjoyed doing construction projects around his home. He cherished time spent with family and following the death of his dad, one of his top concerns was caring for his mother. He will be remembered for his crooked smile, his tan lines from working outside and motorcycle rides, and was never seen without his flip flops.
In addition to his mom, Rosie, and wife, Libby, Bob is survived by two daughters, Cassandra (Justin Boswell) Keller and Kiana (Darren Perry) Keller; three step children, Aaron (Monica Sharpe) Seif, Jacob Brianna Schwilk) Hill and Rachel Hunter; seven grandchildren; two siblings, Kimberly (Timothy) Bond and Jason (Jodi) Keller and one niece and three nephews.
His family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Monday, July 11 at Whetstone Baptist Church, 994 Poe Road, where his funeral will begin at 6:00 p.m. that evening with Pastor Larry Oxendine officiating. A private burial will take place in Olentangy Cemetery at a later date.
To assist with expenses, memorial contributions will be accepted at Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus and made payable to Libby.
