Rickey J. Beck

Rick Beck, 63, of Bucyrus, died Friday, May 27, 2022 at Galion Community Hospital following recent health issues.



Rick was born December 14, 1958 in Bucyrus and attended Wynford High School. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Texas where he worked in the oil fields for a number of years before returning to Bucyrus. Upon his return, he worked at Checkmate and a couple other jobs before his health no longer allowed.



Rick was a sports-minded individual who enjoyed friendships formed with fellow bowlers at Crawford Lanes and golfed many rounds at New Winchester and Bucyrus Country Club. Rick played slow pitch softball for several years and also did some hunting and fishing. He was a man with a big heart and enjoyed time spent with his “Fox Friends”.



Rick is survived by his dad, Clarence “Jake” Beck; children, Rickey Beck Jr., Jacob Beck, Ashley (Scott) Smith, Casey Beck, Quinton (Emily) Beck and Chasity Shoemaker; 10 grandchildren; and one sister, Pam (Tim) Ginter. He was preceded in death by his mom, Jo Ann (Quesinberry) Banks.



A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm Monday, June 6 at Wise Funeral Service with Pastor Tim Ginter officiating. Rick’s family will gather with friends one hour prior to his service and his cremated body will be buried in Nevada Cemetery at a later date.



Donations can be made payable to a charity of the donor’s choice and these gifts will be accepted through the funeral home. Online memories are encouraged to be shared on his tribute wall.
