Nobody else held me so tight or made me feel so right. No one's eyes shined so bright with love, as my mom, who is now high above -Tamsen Butler
Rhonda M. Etzinger Furr Sanford, 56, of Galion passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 7, 2021.
She was born November 30, 1964 in Bucyrus and graduated from Wynford High School. While at Wynford, Rhonda excelled in mathematics and was proud to have placed second at a state level math competition and fourth in the same competition on a national level. She went on to receive her accounting degree from North Central State College and shortly thereafter took a position at Golden Hawk Transportation. She took pride in her efforts of helping grow their company and retired as a controller following 30 plus years of employment.
Rhonda was a caring humanitarian and whether friend or family, she was always there for someone in need. She held a special place in her heart for her family, especially her grandchildren and whatever they wanted, she gave. She enjoyed writing poetry, was a green belt in Tae Kwon Do and had a strong passion for studying genealogy and working on the family tree.
She is survived by her daughters, Johnarae (Brian Hall) Etzinger and Jayla (Michael Osborne) Furr; their father, Donald Dunford and Steven Furr; six grandchildren, Tesla Runion, Jerry Hoskins II, Taylor Hoskins, Zaelyn Angel, Zanden Furr, Trenden Lawhun and five great grandchildren; brothers, Jason (Crystal Hill) Webb, Mark (Shae) Etzinger, Scott (Carrie) Lodge and Tony (Berlie) Lodge.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her father, Richard A. (Geraldine) Etzinger; mother, Pastor Maureen “Micki” (Vernon) Webb; sister, Brenda Etzinger and two grandchildren, Raeanna Ault and Aviegha Lawhun.
Her family will gather with friends from 4 – 5 pm Thursday, March 18 at New Day Ministries (corner of Lane and Warren St), where her celebration of life service will begin at 5:00 pm with Bishop Ted Thomas officiating. Anyone wanting to pay their respects is encouraged to do so and will be welcomed with open arms, and grateful hearts.
