Reverend Leroy C. Kerdolff

Reverend Leroy C. Kerdolff, 89, of Bucyrus, passed peacefully on Friday, August 19, 2022 at Altercare of Bucyrus.

He was born May 18, 1933 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Richard McKinley and Edna Mae (Pfau) Kerdolff. Leroy was a graduate of Withrow High School and went onto study at Heidelberg College before graduating from Eden Seminary in Webster Groves, MO. He served churches of the UCC denomination in Campbellstown, Ohio, Farmersville, Ohio and Inman, KS. Leroy was proud of his service time in the Navy and has always shown respect for fellow servicemen and law enforcement.

Leroy married to Eleanor Rita (Roth) in November of 1956 and they shared 52 wonderful years of marriage until her passing in 2008. Sometime later he met and married Mary Ann (Rehm) Worden, who also had lost her spouse and they shared twelve years of happiness and companionship. Leroy always said God blessed him with two loving and devoted wives. While raising his family, Leroy was a “present and hands on” father and grandfather. Since living in Bucyrus, he and Mary Ann were members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

God blessed Leroy with many gifts, kindness and compassion were probably his most used. From losing his father at a very young age, Leroy had a host of “mentors and father figures” that helped shaped who he became. Through this care and compassion, Leroy successfully counseled and bettered the lives of many individuals over his lifetime. Leroy also “paid it forward” whenever the opportunity arose and he would certainly encourage others to do the same, especially for veterans or any first responders.

In addition to his wife Mary Ann, Leroy is survived by son, Tom Kerdolff; daughter, Joy Tomlinson; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Janel, and Shane; sister-in-law, Charlotte Kerdolff as well as many extended family members. He was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Kerdolff and William “Bill” Kerdolff and a sister, Emilie Kerdolff.

It is the wishes of both Leroy and family that no calling hours be held, however a very brief service with military rites provided by both the US Navy Honor Guard and the Bucyrus Veterans Military Funeral Detail will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 26 at Wise Funeral Service. Following services, guests will be dismissed to go and spread goodwill to others.

Family also specifically requests that in lieu of flowers, friends consider making a gift payable to either Tunnel to Towers, Wounded Warrior Project or a charity of their choosing. These gifts will be accepted through Wise Funeral Service and expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared on his tribute wall.
