Randy L. Morris, 60, of Bucyrus, died Monday, September 23, 2013 at Bucyrus Community Hospital following a one year battle with lung cancer.
Randy was born March 2, 1953 in Bucyrus to the late William F. and Patricia J. (Burns) Morris and graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1971. That same year he enlisted with the US Navy and proudly served until 1975. Randy returned home and on December 3, 1983 he married Nellie Naveja who survives.
He worked at PPG, Swan, Crawford County Council on Aging and lastly for the Kidney Dialysis Center, serving as their Chief Tech, overseeing operations in Bucyrus, Mt. Vernon and Marion before retiring in 2006.
At times, Randy might have been a little bullheaded but he loved and was supportive to his family, especially his grandkids whom he spoiled with chocolate treats. He was a good cook and everyone loved his signature BBQ beef sandwiches and chili. He and Nellie liked watching Jeopardy and following the Reds and in previous years they traveled to Florida. He fished and enjoyed riding his motorcycle at one time but Randy's current hobby or second life, was golf. He loved playing golf with friends at Valley View and he will now watch over them as they carry on his favorite game.
In addition to his wife Nellie, Randy is survived by four children, Vanessa (Herman) Cooper, Kenny (Shannon) Naveja, Jennifer (Rusty) Glines and Patricia (Matt) Horsley all of Bucyrus; grandchildren, Sierra Cooper, Sawyer Cooper, Devin Howard, Halle Naveja, Jordan Naveja, Mykala Houseburg, David Houseburg, Christopher Neale, Kalyn Heinle, Morgan Lambert, Alexis Glines and Kailey Horsley. Also surviving are his brothers, Jeff (Sherry) Morris of Bucyrus, Mike (Marilyn) Morris of Bellville, numerous nieces and nephews and his dog, Oliver. Randy is preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Ernesto and Socorro Naveja.
