Peggy A. Blair

Peggy A. Blair, 67, passed away unexpectedly on March 5, 2016 in Petoskey, Michigan.

She was born in Xenia, Illinois on July 22, 1948 to the late Jesse Lawrence and Ida Mae (Fatheree) Lawrence who survives in Flora, Illinois. Peggy graduated from Flora High School and then received her cosmetology license.

She met Keith Blair on a blind date in June 1970 and he soon became the love of her life. They married on June 5, 1971 and have been two peas in one pod ever since. After their internship in Muncie, Indiana, the Blair’s moved to Bucyrus where she helped open the medical office in August 1974. She worked as the receptionist until that December when daughter Melissa was born. They then joyfully welcomed Jennifer in 1976 and Krista in 1987. She was devoted to her girls and loved supporting Keith in his medical practice as well as raising the family as he was caring for his patients. She supported the girls in every step they took. In 2005 her little Tyler was born; it was love at first sight and their bond was unexplainable. While Tyler was growing up, she loved being a part of all his activities inside and out of school, but most of all she loved being his Mimi!

Peggy was an active member and officer of the Bucyrus Ladies Shrine for many years and served as the First Lady for the Aladdin Shrine Medical Unit. As a member of Woodlawn United Methodist, she helped with their youth programs, in the kitchen, and many other tasks filling in where she was needed. She loved her family, and friends, and enjoyed spending time outside, boating, gardening, playing ball with Tyler, baking, reading, and in her earlier years snowmobiling. She enjoyed traveling with her family, especially in Northern Michigan and her trips to Arizona with her husband. Most of all, Peggy was a constant care giver! She would do anything to comfort her loved ones and was always willing to lovingly care for them.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Keith D. Blair, MD; three daughters who were her pride and joy, Melissa Blair and husband Kevin Dick, Jennifer Link and husband David, and Krista Blair; along with one extremely special grandson, Tyler; mother, Ida Mae Lawrence; brothers, DeWayne (Linda) and JR (Pam) Lawrence; several nieces and nephews, three of whom she considered her boys, Dwight, Daniel and Dustin Edgington.

In addition to her father, Peggy was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Jerry Lawrence and three sisters, Rhonda Edgington, Laura Lawrence, and Regina Stanford.

Her family will receive friends from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 11 at Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, Ohio 44820. Friends are also welcome to call from 11-12 Saturday at Woodlawn UMC, 1675 Hopley Ave. in Bucyrus, where her funeral will begin at 12 Noon with Pastor Tom Gruver officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made payable to the Woodlawn UMC and given at the funeral home or left at the church on the day of Peggy’s service.
