Pauline Dyer, 92, of Bucyrus, passed peacefully at home while in the presence of many who loved her on Sunday, July 28, 2024.
She was born February 22,1932 in Fleming County, Kentucky to the late Willard Lee and Stella Mae (Conley) Butler. On November 4, 1951, she married Otha G. “Doggie” Dyer and shortly thereafter they moved to Bucyrus. Pauline spent several years working at Geauga Plastics in Crestline and retired in 1993.
Pauline was a woman of strong faith and worshipped at Bucyrus Freewill Baptist Church where she loved singing during worship services. She held her family close to her heart, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren who she spoiled whenever possible. Pauline enjoyed tending to her flowers, as well as collecting lighthouse trinkets and memorabilia. She was loved by those in her neighborhood and was commonly referred to as “mom” by many of her neighbors. Pauline never had a drivers license and never wanted to bother anyone for a ride, so when in need of something, she’d take off walking and often sang or could be heard humming Christian hymns while on her journey.
Pauline was well loved and will be missed by many, including her four children, Kathy Jane (Mike) Neeld, Marcella “Kaye” (Steve) Hildreth, Terry Lee (Kay) Dyer and Pamela Ann Dyer; grandchildren, Jerry Alspach, Qessy Hildreth, Jenny Fry, Jason (Megan) Neeld, Kristina “Krissy” Dyer, Kelly Jo Dyer, Eric Dyer, Angie (Bill) Greene, Joshua (Heather) Harris, Patty (Marcos) Saavedra and Ben (Rhonda) Foos; as well as many great and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Doggie Dyer, Pauline was preceded in death by three children, Stanley Allen Dyer, James Arthur Dyer, and Kenetta Lyn Dyer; two grandchildren, Willard and Jacob Dyer as well as eight siblings, Ethyl Butler, Maxine Butler, Linda Gallant, Armel “Spoony” Butler, Clester Butler, Loyd Butler, Omel Lee Butler and Harold “Junior” Butler.
Pauline’s family will gather with friends from 1 – 3 pm on Saturday, August 3 at Bucyrus Freewill Baptist Church, 1676 Hopley Ave., Bucyrus. Ohio, where a celebration of life service will begin at 3:00 pm that day and a meal to follow.
If desired, donations can be made payable to Pathways Hospice and will be accepted through Wise Funeral Service. Expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared on her guestbook page.
