Paul H. Bolin

Paul H. "Bub" Bolin, 70, of Bucyrus, died Monday, November, 7, 2011 at his residence following a brief battle with cancer where he was surrounded by family.



He was born July 1, 1941 in Columbus to the late George H. and Edith (Wright) Bolin. Paul attended school in Columbus and in August of 1958 enlisted with the U.S. Army and served until July of 1961. Following his service, Paul returned to Columbus and for many years operated a sweeper and sewing sales and repair shop. On October 15, 1980, he met Mary K. Saunders, whom he later proclaimed was the best thing that ever happened to him, and on October 15, 1983 they got married and moved to Bucyrus. Paul continued his sweeper and sewing repair business but also found work at Swan Rubber and was employed there for 22 years before retiring.

Paul was a loving, hardworking man who thought everything of his family. Whether it was a family get together, the opportunity to watch them participate in their sporting events or building a doll house for his granddaughter, Paul would do whatever he could to support them and make them smile. He enjoyed playing euchre, throwing darts and always enjoyed a coffee as well as some White House Ice Cream from UDF or a piece of cheesecake. He was a member of the Bucyrus Moose Lodge and will be missed by many.

He is survived by his children, Paul Bolin of Grove City, Niki Bolin of Chicago, Ill., Paul Jason (Sandy) Saunders of Bucyrus, Scott (Master Sgt., Laurie) Heinle of Bucyrus; grandchildren, Kalyn Heinle, Grant Heinle, Andrew Heinle, Elijah Bolin and Donny Bolin; sisters-in-law, Joan Saunders of Bucyrus and Glenna (Bob) Mink; a brother-in-law, Joe Saunders and a special friend and caregiver, Brenda Lohr.

Paul is preceded in death by two sons, Jon and Dean Bolin and a sister, Barb Glover.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 9 at Wise Funeral Service, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday with Major William Augustine and Pastor Ted Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens with military rites provided by the U.S. Army and American Legion Post 181. Memorial contributions may be given to the family to help with expenses through the funeral home.
