Patricia M. Bicknell, 58, of Bucyrus, died Thursday evening, July 26, 2012 at Heartland of Bucyrus where she was surrounded by her family.
Patricia was born November 28, 1953 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of Ralph Bicknell who resides in Woodstock, Georgia and the late Eleanor (Murray) Bicknell.
Patricia was a true caregiver to her family as well as the many people she helped while working as an activities director at both Altercare and Carlisle House. "Nonny" as she was known by her grandchildren, loved family gatherings, especially the holiday gatherings, as she had the opportunity to cook a complete meal and many went back for seconds. Patricia also baked cakes for many family members at important times in their lives such as weddings, birthdays or graduations.
In addition to providing for family and friends, Patricia loved traveling, whether to the ocean or the mountains of Kentucky and Tennessee where she felt close to God, she enjoyed the beautiful scenery which both provided. Patricia also valued time spent with her dogs, liked watching the Food Network and was a big Paula Dean fan. Earlier in life, she liked playing bingo at Holy Trinity where she was a member of the parish.
In addition to her father Ralph and step-mother Judie, Patricia is survived by her son, David Graves and his wife Christa of Bucyrus and their three children, Noah, Micah, Emma Graves; sisters, Peggy Bicknell of Sunfield, Michigan, Cindy (Jim) Landis of Bucyrus and Mary (Dirk) Cochran of Candlewood Lake along with her longtime best friend, Vickie Johnson of Galion.
Patricia was cremated and a memorial funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 31 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Fr. John Miller as celebrant.
The family specifically request in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association, Homecare Matters or the Alzheimer's Association through the Wise Funeral Home. Patricia's family is extremely grateful for all of the love and care provided to her by the staff at Heartland. Thanks for loving her as family.
