Patricia E. Myers

Patricia Ellen Myers, 75, of Bucyrus, passed peacefully on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Altercare of Bucyrus.



She was born July 7, 1945 in Bucyrus to the late Paul C. and Virginia M. (Crall) Kennedy. Pat was a 1963 graduate of Bucyrus High School where she was proud to have been part of the marching band. She studied for a short time at Ohio University before transferring to Heidelberg College and receiving her bachelor’s degree in education.



On June 22, 1968, Pat married John L. Myers whom she met while working at the city pool. They were like two peas in a pod and shared 41 years of marriage before his passing on September 27, 2009. Pat put her education to use by teaching at Norton Elementary School for a short time before children came along. At this time, she took a break from educating others to focus on the care of her family. As her children grew, she dove back into education by teaching preschool at the Bucyrus YMCA. She helped form a solid foundation for several children over her 15 years spent at the YMCA.



Pat was a lifelong member of St. John’s UCC where she played piano for Junior Church and taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose in Bucyrus and a former TWIG member.



Pat and John spent many weekends camping at Hidden Lakes in Mt. Gilead. She enjoyed day trips with her grandchildren and liked listening to her brother (The John Kennedy Orchestra) perform whenever she could. For relaxation, Pat enjoyed many hours sitting outside, simply taking in what life had to offer.



She will be missed by her children, Kevin (Amanda) Myers and Dawn (John) Fletcher; grandchildren, Brittaney (Justin) Thompson, Alexis (Will) Atkinson, Hannah (Kieler) Ward, Mary (Jeff) Machingo, Kobie Naufzinger, Kendall Naufzinger, Misty (Willie) Perry, Nicole (Carl) Fletcher, Michael Fletcher, Jonathon Fletcher, Branden (Cheyenne) Fletcher, Sean Fletcher, Kristen Fletcher and Somer Fletcher; many great grandchildren and siblings, John (Joyce) Kennedy and Michael (Kathleen) Kennedy.



Her family will receive friends from 10-11:55 Saturday, February 20 at St. John’s UCC, where her memorial service will begin that day at 12:00 pm with Pastor Gary Schiefer officiating. Pat’s burial will be private and will be held in Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.
