Patricia M. Diebler, 78, of Bucyrus died Saturday afternoon, March 15, 2014 at Bucyrus Community Hospital after a recent illness.
She was born in Bucyrus October 4, 1935 to the late Harold and Marjorie (Long) Hinamon. After attending school at Bucyrus and Whetstone, she was married to William L. Diebler on June 24, 1950 starting over 56 years of companionship until his death on March 21, 2007.
Pat was a people person. A trait that served her well in her work at Sears, Geyer’s and Basset’s IGA. She and Bill were extremely close and did everything together. All of their family was very important to them and they enjoyed getting together with their siblings’ families and following the lives and sports of their grandchildren with all the pride only grandparents could have. She was an active member of Windfall U.C.C. and helped at the YMCA for a number of years, teaching swim lessons and Pretty Punch classes. She liked to do cross-stitch and needlepoint and enjoyed the company of family and friends over a game of cards, especially Pinochle.
She will be remembered as a great and caring mom who was fair, consistent and determined. She grew to be an excellent cook whose pumpkin rolls and apple pie were good and her potato salad was the best in history. She and Bill liked spending camping and boating season at Lake Erie and always loved their two Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Ralph and Jessie.
Pat is survived by her children, Keith and Debra Diebler of Port Clinton, Dawn and Greg Wert of Nevada and Leon and Carrie Diebler of Bucyrus; grandchildren, Jeremiah (Erin) Diebler, Jacob Diebler, Jon (Caitlin) Diebler, Chris (Andi) Ream, Gary (Laura) Wert, Mark Wert, Levi (fiancée Elizabeth Henry) Diebler, Caila (Aaron) Rogers and Carissa Diebler; 10 great grandchildren, Callie, Mia, Juliana, Camdon, Noah, Ashlynn, Koler, Raven, Jasmine and Jaedon; brother, Ronald (Phyllis) Hinamon of Bucyrus; sister, Marsha (Steve) Hamm of Bucyrus along with a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Pat was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jessica Diebler and Jerrod Ream.
A funeral for Pat will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19 at Wise Funeral Service with Revs. Loyd and Dreama Caudill officiating. The Diebler family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, from 11:30-1:30.
Those wishing to make memorial donations are encouraged to give to Windfall Emanuel UCC or Maplecrest through the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be shared in a Memorial Guestbook entry below.
