Patricia Coons

Patricia Kaye Coons, 61, of Bucyrus, died Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Promedica of Bucyrus.

Patty was born June 21, 1961 in Bucyrus to the late William Armel “Spooney” and Elma Clorana (Morgan) Butler and was a 1980 graduate of Bucyrus High School. She worked at the L&K for a period of time before moving to Mansfield where she resided at Diamond View Residential Care. The past 15 plus years, she’s enjoyed the friendships formed with staff and fellow residents at Heartland of Bucyrus.

Socializing with others made Patty the happiest and when not with others, she could often be found coloring in her books or writing letters which she mailed to those nearest and dearest to her.

Patty is survived by three brothers, Carl (Barb) Butler, Gene (Melissa) Butler and Donnie Butler; four nieces, Amanda (Jon) Cumberton, Natasha Butler, Dawn Marie (Joe) Clark and Tina Kay (Brent) Downing; great nephews and nieces, Alexander Cumberton, Dylan Downing, and Jocelyn and Abby Clark; as well as two aunts, Shirley (Lloyd “Dickie”) Ash and Pauline Dyer.

In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by a sister, Chris Ann Butler and a nephew, Brandon Starlin.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 4 at Wise Funeral Service, where family will visit with friends one hour prior. She will be laid to rest in Crawford County Memory Gardens.

If desired, donations can be made payable to the Bucyrus Salvation Army and these gifts will be accepted through the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared on her tribute wall.
