Patricia Ann Borland

Pat Borland, 70, died Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky.



She was born December 18, 1945 in New Dover, Ohio to the late John C. Curry and Ivadell (Lowry) Curry Davids and was a 1963 graduate of Elgin High School. On June 17, 1967 she married Larry J. Borland and they created countless memories traveling the 48 continental states before his death in 2011.



Pat was a caregiver to many. She lived with Meniere’s disease but continued caring for family and residents at The County Home and Altercare as well as the many patients at Bucyrus Community Hospital where she worked as a nurses aide.



Pat is survived by two daughters, Lisa M. McKenzie of Galion and Erica C. (Gino) Masi of Howard, Ohio; three grandchildren, Alexandrea and Emily McKenzie and Cedric Masi; one brother Eugene (Vivian) Curry of Radnor, Ohio and a sister-in-law, Judy Curry of Prospect.

In addition to her parents and husband, Pat is preceded in death by her stepdad, Newell Davids and a brother, Roger Curry.



Pat was a member of the Bucyrus UMC and had been active at Epworth before her hearing declined. She cherished time spent with her grandkids and loved watching them at their band or sporting events. She liked being on the computer and loved Sudoku puzzles. Earlier in life, there were many weekends spent camping and she enjoyed traveling the 48 states with Larry. In more recent years, Pat thoroughly enjoyed her trips to Hawaii and Alaska with her two daughters and grandkids and she felt privileged to also have visited Australia. Pat is now able to hear clearly and will be missed by many.



Her family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, December 27 at Wise Funeral Service where her funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday with Pastor Mike Corwin officiating. Burial will follow in Grand Prairie Cemetery in Brush Ridge.



Memorial contributions may be given to either the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Diabetes Association through the funeral home.
