Pat Combs

Patricia Ann Combs, 93, died late Sunday, January 19, 2025 at her home under the care of her family and Avita Hospice.

She was born in Bucyrus on January 8, 1932 to the late Glen and Velma (Treisch) Batton. Pat was the oldest of the four Batton girls and graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1950. She was a homemaker and worked at Harter’s Gift Shoppe for a number of years.

Pat will be remembered for her energy and sweet disposition. She was one of the nicest people anyone could have ever met. Her home was always spotless, and she took meticulous care of her lawn, even if it meant edging it with scissors. She never missed her Thursday hair and nail appointments and then she went to the lake, sharing memorable weekends with her friends and family at Eckel’s Twin Oaks Campground. Although she was usually content to stay near home or the lake, Pat did enjoy a few trips, especially a memorable visit to Graceland, her favorite singer’s home. Pat loved to dance and even met Bill Combs, the father of her sons, at Catalina Dance Club in Marion. Her love and devotion to her family was cherished and she will be missed by many.

Pat is survived by two sons, Mike Combs and Kip (Missy) Combs; grandchildren, Shayla (Keven) DeLong, Kristy Combs, and Kavan Combs; and great granddaughter, Hannah DeLong. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Norma Jean Burris, Shirley Huggins, and Glenda Shull; former husband Bill Combs; daughter-in-law, Brenda Combs; and grandson, Tyler.

Pat’s family will gather privately to lay her to rest in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial donations payable to Avita Hospice are appreciated and will be accepted at Wise Funeral Service, 129 W Warren St, Bucyrus.
