Pastor Maureen F. “Micki” Webb, 69, died Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Bucyrus Community Hospital. She had dealt with some recent health issues but her death was unexpected.
Micki was born May 23, 1946 in Bucyrus to the late Johnnie and Mary Evelyn (Johns) Dummitt. She married Vernon R. Webb on November 28, 1970 and their marriage grew stronger than ever following the renewing of their wedding vows on October 1, 2005. There were many memorable times following their renewed marriage until Vernon’s death in 2013.
Micki will be remembered as an independent and hardworking person. She spent 35 years working at Timken so she could raise her family and build on the land she was so proud to call home. Micki loved Jesus and when she retired from Timken, she sought out and received her Certificate of Evangelism. She loved helping pastor individuals at New Day Ministries where she filled the pulpit when needed, taught Sunday School, and enjoyed singing whenever the opportunity presented itself as God gave her a wonderful singing voice. Pastor Micki also enjoyed sharing God’s word with the residents at Altercare and was always striving to learn more about her Savior through studying scripture.
Early in life, she enjoyed camping with family and friends which led to traveling to further destinations. She enjoyed working around her home planting flowers and tending to the yard but above all, Micki loved her cats. At one time, she had close to 30 indoor or outdoor cats and they all had a name and a story. More recently Micki enjoyed relaxing and keeping up with family by socializing on Facebook.
She is survived by two children, Rhonda (Brian) Sanford and Jason (Amanda Hughes) Webb, both of Bucyrus; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Naomi (Jim) Copper of Bucyrus and Beverly (Larry) Metz of Sulphur Springs; and one sister-in-law, Darlene Dummitt of Bucyrus.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is now joined in Heaven with her daughter, Brenda Etzinger; brother, Bradley Dummitt; and two great grandchildren.
Cremation arrangements were handled by the staff of Wise Funeral Service and her family will hold private services at a later date. Memorial donations may be given to New Day Ministries and will be accepted at the funeral home. Friends are encouraged to share a memory on her Tribute Wall by visiting www.wisefuneral.com.
