Norman E. Booth

ACCOVILLE, W.Va. — Rev. Norman E. Booth Sr., 73, of Accoville, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, November 14, 2012, from his home after a short courageous battle with cancer.

Born November 22, 1938, at Yolyn, he was a son of the late Charles Leslie and Georgia Adkins Booth. Also preceding him in death was his first wife, Edna Mae Dials Booth; one son-in-law, William "Bill" Cook; three sisters, Rose Ann Booth, Virginia Lou Adkins and Wilma Jean Howard, and three brothers, Donald Booth, Johnny Ray Booth and Danny Keith Booth.

Norman was a coal miner who retired from Pittston Coal Company after more than 20 years of service. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America local 8454. After retirement, Norman received his true calling to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ which he truly loved. He was an active member of the Man Church of the Nazarene for many years until the Lord led him to the assistant pastorship of the Liberty Freewill Baptist Church at Amherstdale. Norman also attended the Landville Freewill Baptist Church and various other area churches. He participated in the nursing home ministry at Boone Memorial Nursing Home in Madison. A people person, Norman never met a stranger and always shared his Christian witness. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Juanita Sue Hunt Harvey Booth; three daughters, Sherri (Russell) Brown of Gilman Bottom, Robin Cook of Accoville, and Susan (Tim) Klontz of Bucyrus, Ohio; two sons, Norman (Mary Ann) Booth Jr. of Cyclone and David (Cathy) Booth of Amherstdale; Juanita's daughters whom he loved dearly, Elizabeth (Billy) White and Paula (Jeramey) Stacy, both of Accoville; two sisters, Frances (Hollis) Tabor of Brunswick, Ohio, and Teresa (Michael) Henri of Ashland, Wis.; one brother, Ronald "Buzz" Booth of Cleveland, Ohio; 16 grandchildren, Jessica Brown (fiancé Terry Peck) of Clendenin, Kyle (Tara) Brown of Whitman, Nicholas Booth (Anna Butcher), Kirsten (Timmy) Doty, both of Accoville, Rachael Booth (fiancé Evan Riggins), Lauren Booth and Grace Booth, all of Cyclone, Danielle Booth and David Booth Jr., both of Amherstdale, Jillian Wise and Michael Wise, both of Bucyrus, and Cody White, Ashley White, Hailey White, Bethany Stacy and Grayson Stacy, all of Accoville; six great-grandchildren, Jayden, Jace and Trent Brown, all of Whitman, Elizabeth and Alexis Peck of Clendenin, and Jackson Doty of Accoville; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Norman's life will be held at noon Saturday, November 17, at the Man Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Freddie Clay and Rev. David Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the church where a service will begin at 8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Norman Booth Jr., David Booth, Russell Brown, Tim Klontz, Kyle Brown, Nick Booth, Billy White and Jeramey Stacy.

Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Key, Garnet Marsh, Mike Vitruls and Timmy Doty.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
