Nancy L. Crum, 72, of Bucyrus, passed peacefully at her home on Sunday, April 24, 2022.
She was born February 19, 1950 in Bluffton to the late Rev. Oliver J. and Virginia K. (Reese) Beach. Nancy spent much of her youth in Bluffton and following eighth grade, their family moved to Sulphur Springs. She was a 1968 graduate of Col. Crawford High School and on April 20, 1969, she married Glen W. Crum who she’d previously met at the Crawford County Fair. They shared 40 years of marriage until his passing on May 29, 2009.
Nancy had worked at CE White in New Washington early in her marriage and when it came time to raise a family, she stayed home to care for everyone as a homemaker. She eventually returned to work outside of the home by taking a job at Herald Printing where she worked as a type setter and proof reader. She next moved on to become the Administrative Assistant for the Bucyrus Chamber of Commerce, and proudly served the chamber for many years. Nancy concluded her work career as a secretary at the Presbyterian Church.
Nancy lived life with a strong faith and enjoyed many years of worshipping God at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sulphur Springs; teaching Sunday School and was active in the Women’s Circle. For the past five years, she’s enjoyed hearing God’s word at Wayside Chapel.
Nancy also lived for her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She fondly remembers many good memories created through their involvement in 4-H and she was always excited for Christmas time when they’d gather to make cookies and candy to share with others. Whatever her grandchildren were involved with, they could always count on grandma Crum’s support. She kept busy doing crafts and scrapbooking and loved reading Christian books.
Nancy will be missed by her two daughters, Tammy (Matt) Studer and Tina (Steve) Seiler; three grandchildren, Emma (Frederik) Studer-Perez, Joshua (Grace) Seiler and Zachary Seiler; two sisters, Deanna (Don) Essinger and Cindy (Mike) Bugg; brother-in-law, David (Tami) Crum and sisters-in-law, Janet (Dan) Jarvis and Judy Tong.
She has been reunited in Heaven with her parents and husband; her grandson, Colin Studer and brothers-in-law, John Tong and Rev. Ronald Chelton.
Calling hours for Nancy will be held from 5 – 8 pm Thursday, April 28 at Wise Funeral Service. Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Friday at Wayside Chapel with Pastor Jerrill Wyler officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made payable to Wayside Chapel. These gifts will be accepted through the funeral home and memories are encouraged to be shared on her tribute page.
