Michael S. Sack

Michael S. Sack, 63, of Bucyrus, died Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Bucyrus Community Hospital. He had been battling complications from a heart attack and stroke suffered back in May.



Mike, also known as Mick and Slim, was born on October 8, 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio. His parents, the late Ralph and Florence (Gurecki) Sack, moved their young family to Bucyrus in 1959. Mick graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1970. After working at Miracle Mart, he got a job at Shunk Manufacturing, which later became PACAL Blades. He retired from there after 29 years.



Mick kept to himself most of the time. His heart lit up once he became a father and grandfather. He surely loved his family. Mick really loved the outdoors and was never in too much of a hurry. Most of the time, you could find him tinkering around outside. At family gatherings, Mick would come up missing, but we always knew where to find him. He enjoyed hanging out at the Bistro and seldom missed rooting on Dale Earnhardt in a NASCAR race. Mick, although not a man of many words, would have given the shirt off of his back if needed.



Mick is survived by three daughters, Monica Sack, Melissa (Justin) Bauer and Mandy Sack (Jeff Howard); his five delightful grandchildren, Atley, Paxen, Paisley, Grady and Bexlee; and two sisters, Marcia (Steve) Hill and Mariann (Mike) Zimmerman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Phyllis Waring, the mother of his children and previous wife.



Mick's family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, January 25 at Wise Funeral Home in Bucyrus. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bernie France officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.



Memorial donations can be made to the Humane Society Serving Crawford County through the funeral home and memories can be shared on his Tribute Wall.
