Maxine C. Warner

Maxine C. Warner, 69, of Bucyrus, passed peacefully at home early Wednesday, February 28, 2024, but not before all her grandchildren and some special friends got to say goodbye and reciprocate the love shown to them.

Maxine was born November 11, 1954 in Marion to the late Daniel M. and Frances L. (Stanley) Lust. She spent much of her youth in the Marion and Caledonia area prior to her family moving to Bucyrus and graduating from Bucyrus High School in 1973. On November 20, 1976, she married Terry L. Warner, and he survives.

Maxine worked various jobs throughout her life, including Swan, where she spent several years and retired in 2009. Always one to keep busy, she also managed much of her father’s property following his passing.

Maxine lived her life with a daily purpose, “if she helped make someone’s day a little better, then it was a good day.”  She had a huge heart for her family. They celebrated many special days together, shared many laughs, and any time spent with her granddaughters was the best.   She also loved their many pets and treated them all as she would the rest of her family. Her love of music was evident in the countless concerts she’s attended over the years. From rock-n-roll to country, she’s listened to some great bands.

In addition to Terry, her husband of 47 years, Maxine will be missed by her daughter, Tessa (Eric) Pekarcik; granddaughters, Shelby Payne, Alexis Payne, Josie Pekarcik, and Caroline Pekarcik; sister, Marie (Tom Mitchner) Lemaster; as well as many extended family members and close friends.

Along with her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her son, Zachary Warner; siblings, John Lust and Gloria Fisher; and her father and mother-in-law, Richard and Florence Warner.

Calling hours for Maxine will be held from 11 – 12:55 pm Monday, March 4 at Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St. Bucyrus, where her funeral will follow at 1:00 pm. She will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery. Anyone unable to attend her funeral can view a live webcast of her service by visiting her tribute page at www.wisefuneral.com.

Donations can be made payable to the Humane Society Serving Crawford County and will be accepted through the funeral home.
