Maxine Ruth Light, 83, of Bucyrus, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 at home following a long illness and courageous battle. She was surrounded by her family and friends during her illness and the time of her death.
Maxine was a lifelong homemaker, a very talented cook, baker and gardener. She was very fond of nature and enjoyed her home's many flowers and plentiful landscaping, including the planting of a tree farm in the flood zone of their property after her husband's retirement. She also enjoyed various sewing activities and each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren have a Raggedy Ann or Andy doll handmade by their loving grandmother.
She was a devout Jehovah's Witness and was associated with the Bucyrus Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for 57 years. She was very active in Bible study and helping others understand the Bible. Even with her many interests, Maxine's life reflected her values that the most important things in life are having close relationships with family members and Jehovah God.
Maxine Light was born February 11, 1929 in Shelby to the late Orie and Maude (Wise) Garverick, the oldest of three children. Her brother John preceded her in death and she is survived by her sister, Margaret (Luther) Lamb of Ontario.

Sons, Robert Allen Light and Douglas Eugene Light also preceded Maxine in death.
