Mary Jo Cramer, 88, of Bucyrus, died January 14, 2022 at Altercare of Bucyrus.
Mary was born November 7, 1933 to the late Aloysius and Mildred (Fox) Lucius in Frenchtown. After attending New Riegel Schools until the 10th grade, Mary stayed at home to help take care of her many siblings. Mary married the late Willard “Jim” Cramer January 9, 1954 and he preceded her in death December 19, 2021. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Mary worked many jobs over her life from waitressing at the Cozy Corner, bartending at Mimi’s Lounge, then as a car parts manager at several car dealerships, doing factory work at Timken and Special Packaging, and then as a waitress at Posey’s Restaurant before retiring.
Mary loved her family immensely. She enjoyed spending time with them at Cedar Point, State Fairs, and on trips into Amish Country. When Mary wasn’t traveling with family, she was spoiling them at home with her homemade cookies, pies, cakes, and bread pudding. She loved taking care of her family, cooking, and gardening. Mary enjoyed catching up with loved ones over the phone and listening to old country music. Her proudest accomplishments were her family and earning her GED at 60 years old.
Mary is survived by her children, Bernard (Marlene) Cramer, Darlene (Roger) Boudinot, and Gerald Cramer; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers, Herman (Pat), Harold (Pat), and Ralph (Dorothy) Lucius; and sisters, Marie Pridday, Oleta (Tom) Miller, Leona (John) Mogle, Viola (John) Ink, and Inez Lauterbur. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 68 years, Jim Cramer, great-grandson Shayne Myers, brothers, Mark, Leonard, Vincent, baby brother, Joseph, and sister, Teresa Zeigler.
Services will be held Wednesday, January 19 at Wise Funeral Service. Family will receive friends 10 – 11:55 am and funeral liturgy will begin at 12 Noon by Father Paul Fahrbach. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made payable to Autism Speaks or CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) and sent to the funeral home. Memories and photos can be shared on Mary’s tribute wall.
