Mary Jane Berry, 91 of Bucyrus, died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at her residence in the presence of her family.
Janie was born May 1, 1921 in Bucyrus to the late Oscar and Kathryn (Diener) Pearl. She was a 1940 graduate of Bucyrus High School and on October 30, 1941 she married her high school sweetheart, John R. Berry. She was a sweet and gentle lady whose focus was to maintain a happy home. Janie and John loved traveling to warmer areas, such as the Caribbean or Hawaiian Islands and she kept her mind sharp by reading and also enjoyed doing word searches. In her earlier years she enjoyed sewing for her family and most recently she enjoyed being around her great grandchildren.
Janie was a member of the Bucyrus Chapter #3, Order of the Eastern Star and a former member of American Legion, Women's Auxiliary where she enjoyed playing cards with friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Dale) Starcher and Nancy "Jean" Berry all of Bucyrus; four grandchildren, John Neubacher, Matt Neubacher, Melodie (Berry) Verrett and Noel Berry along with eight great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Janie is preceded in death by her husband John who passed in 1995 and her brother, George Pearl.
