Mary E. Hart

Mary Esther Hart, 93, of Bucyrus, died July 7, 2022 peacefully at home.

Mary was born February 19, 1929 to the late Charles and Dora (Swartz) Schultze in Bucyrus on the family farm. She was a 1947 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School. Mary was baptized the same day she married her loving husband, Jim Hart, on December 28, 1985.

She was co-owner of Bill’s TV & Appliance in Bucyrus, Galion, and Tiffin. Once the two retired, they moved to Florida. Mary was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Vero Beach. Her retirement took a hiatus when she began working at Lowe’s in the appliance department, where she outsold everyone and was known for her great work. Jim and Mary then moved back to Bucyrus in March of 2022 to be closer to her sons and family there. She became a member of Bucyrus Church of the Nazarene.

Mary was a friendly person who would go out of her way to help others. She looked forward to cooking Thanksgiving dinner and spending Christmases with family. Mary spent many vacations with family on cruises and boating on Lake Erie. She was not afraid of trying new things. This led to her having many interests and hobbies such as golfing, cooking, fishing, and rollercoasters. Her favorite rides were the Blue Streak at Cedar Point and Space Mountain at Disney. She was biking until the last few years and was a fan of New Riegel ribs and Disney. Mary loved flowers. She was a fun-loving person who was a joy to be around.

Mary is survived by her husband of 37 years; sons, Bill (Kathy) Allonas, Jerry (Alison) Allonas, Mike (Marjorie) Allonas; stepsons, Jimmy (Victor) Hart and Jonathan (Sheila) Hart; grandchildren, Tracy Pifher, Kristy Fullenkamp, Sherry Stevens, Kara Houchin, Jennifer Allonas, Mikie Allonas, Trey Allonas; step grandchildren, Leah Hart, Abbott Kendall, Chris Howard, John Howard, Jeff Howard, Veronica Hildreth; 12 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her step grandson, JD Nauman, son, Charles Robert “Buddy” Allonas, and siblings, Mabel Fike, Richard Schultze, and Lois Beard.

The family is respecting Mary’s wishes of having a private family celebration of life. Memorial contributions can be made payable to the Bucyrus Church of the Nazarene and sent to Wise Funeral Service. Memories and photos can be shared on Mary’s tribute wall.
