Marvin D. Kent, 75, of Bucyrus died Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital after a recent heart attack.



He was born October 28, 1941 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to the late Russell and Mae (Mee) Kent. The Kent family then made their way back to Ohio and Marvin graduated from Bloomville High School in 1959. He served in the US Army from 1960-1963 and lived most of his life in the Bucyrus area.



Marvin worked for the railroad in Fostoria before becoming a horse trainer. He was an avid outdoorsman whether hunting, fishing or raising his beloved coon dogs. Known as a wheeler and dealer, Marvin bought and sold in area flea markets and worked many odd jobs. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and United States Trotting Association. He also enjoyed music, played guitar, and sang and wrote country songs.



Marvin is survived by six children, Stephen, Christopher, Christine, Stephenie, Lisa, and Mandy; several grandchildren; siblings, Joann King, Byron Kent, Theresa Kent, Sandra (Alan) Mackintosh, and Ronald Kent; step-siblings, Daisy, Carey, Eunice, William, and Bea; and many nieces and nephews.



In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his stepmother, Helen Kent; sister, Marva Coffman; brother, Jimmy Reavis; and stepsister, Brenda Foley.



Private services are under the direction of Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus.
