Marie T. Peterman

Marie T. Peterman, 80, of Bucyrus, died Friday, May 18, 2012 at Bucyrus Community Hospital.

She was born June 25, 1931 in Bucyrus to the late Henry E. Shiffer and Nellie May (Howard) Shiffer Pritchard. On October 25, 1952, she married Delbert D. Peterman and he preceded her in death on December 11, 1989. Marie is also preceded in death by her "second" father, Homer Pritchard; her daughter, Barbara Peterman; granddaughter, Joyce Ann Peterman, two brothers, Jim Shiffer and Charles Ruckman and two sisters, Betty (Ruckman) Peterman and Mary (Shiffer) Abel Bunn.

Marie is survived by two sons, Jack Peterman of Bucyrus and Dale (Brenda) Peterman of Chatfield; four grandchildren, Laurie Goodin, Lynda (Carl) Ratliff, Dale (Katrina) Peterman and Sarah (Doug) Kalb in addition to thirteen great grandchildren.

Marie raised her family as a homemaker and worked at Ekleberry Poultry for about 15 years before retirement. She was a very warm and caring lady who loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and cherished the companionship of her dog, Mo. She kept busy in her garden and liked canning what she grew. Later in life, her afternoons were blocked off so she could watch her daily Soaps with Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 22 at Wise Funeral Service with Pastor Ted Thomas officiating. Her family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Burial will follow the funeral in Oakwood Cemetery.
