Margaret A. (Schrier) Del

Margaret A. Del, 86, of Bucyrus, died Monday, August 1, 2011 at MedCentral Health System in Mansfield.

 

She was born November 2, 1924 in Bunker Hill, Ohio to the late Alfred F. and Louise F. (Fahrni) Schrier. Margaret graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1942 and from Bliss College in 1943. She worked for a while at Camp Millard for her future husband Anthony J. "Tony" Del whom she married on Feb. 21, 1946 and they had 60 wonderful years together before his death on July 26, 2006. Following her time at Camp Millard, she began working for her father at their family business, The Schrier Cheese Factory. She served as the Bookkeeper, Secretary/Treasurer and Agent for 38 consecutive years retiring on June 30, 1981.

Margaret was a feisty lady who loved following her Browns and Indians. She was faithful in her attendance at the 8 AM service at Woodlawn United Methodist Church and very much enjoyed dining out with her special friends, Carol and Dick Cory. Margaret also took pride in her doll collection.

She is survived by one son, Michael A. Del and wife Carol of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; two grandchildren, Steven E. Del and wife Jamie of Pittsburgh and Thomas S. Del of Reynoldsburg; two great grandchildren, Hannah and Nathan Del in addition to nieces and nephews.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Tony Del; two brothers, Edward Schrier and Herman Schrier and two sisters, Gertrude Korner and Elsa Maxwell.

Friends may call from 10 AM until 12 Noon Thursday, August 4 at Wise Funeral Service, and funeral services will begin at 12 Noon Thursday with Pastor Jim Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends are invited back to Woodlawn UMC for a meal and a time of fellowship with family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or a charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home.
